CJA 260 Introduction to Correctional Institutions

Introduction to Correctional Institutions: Provides an overview of correctional facilities including prisons, jails, treatment, and work release facilities. Introduces the effects of incarceration on inmates and their adaptive strategies. Introduces various intervention modalities and reintegration programs back into the community. Prerequisites: CJA 105 and WR 121. Addendum: Students attending this course study the effects of incarceration on individuals and groups while discussing adaptive strategies employed by inmates. The role of programs within these facilities, to further various intervention and treatment modalities.
