2019-2020 College Catalog

Law Enforcement Specialist Certificate

Overview

While formal education beyond a high school diploma is not necessarily required to be employed in the field, it is highly preferred. The certificate provides the first step in a career pathway in law enforcement as well as a formalized training program for those already in the police reserves as the reserve officers do not have a program that is tailored to their needs. The certificate serves as a pathway for those wishing to pursue the AAS degree and to provide relevant course work for those already employed and desiring formal training. Completing the certificate will allow individuals to meet requirements for advancement in the field.
