Emergency Medical Services Certificate

Overview

Students will have the opportunity to complete the coursework necessary for the State of Oregon EMT certification. Other relevant coursework is included, such as Medical Terminology, CPR/First Aid, and Health Careers, which will provide students with a path to the AAS degree in Criminal Justice and Public Safety.

Learning Outcomes

• Act in accordance with the ethical and professional medical standards of the entry level EMT Basic.
• Demonstrate the professional and technical skill set necessary in law enforcement, correctional environments, and other emergency situations in an EMT Basic capacity.
• Individuals completing the certificate will meet the eligibility requirements to take and pass the State of Oregon and National certification examination for EMT Basic.
