NAT 201 Managing Natural Resources for theFuture

Overview of the complexities involved in managing natural resources of the Pacific Northwest. Exposure to major natural resource issues of the region. Development of critical thinking skills useful in seeking solutions. Addendum: This course is intended to articulate to Oregon State University (OSU) as NAT 201. This is an interdisciplinary course for first- and second-year students in any of the natural resource curricula (agriculture, environmental science, fisheries and wildlife, forestry, geography, natural resources, oceanography, and range), and for other students interested in learning more about how and why natural resources are managed in the Pacific Northwest. The intent is to model how resource specialists work together to solve real-world problems, to cause persons to express and examine the values they hold about natural resources, and to help them learn to work in an interdisciplinary team to examine current natural resource issues.
