AH 101 Phlebotomy I

Introduces basic laboratory skills to collect and process high quality blood specimens for clinical laboratory analysis. Classroom instruction includes anatomy and physiology of the circulatory system, specimen collection, specimen processing and handling, and laboratory operations related to safety, quality, control, etc. Course includes a skills component to prepare students for clinical experience in Phlebotomy II. Requires current HCP CPR card, criminal background check, 11 panel drug screen, and immunizations prior to enrollment. Prerequisites: RDWR115/MTH 20 (or placement above these levels). Associated program: AAS in Healthcare Administration.
