NURS 102D Pharmacology

Allows students to draw on knowledge from Anatomy, Physiology, and Pathophysiology in order to build a foundation of knowledge in the pharmacodynamics of medications from a variety of drug classifications for treatment of illness, and promotion and maintenance of wellness. Instruction and discussion on nursing knowledge and assessment for complications, adverse side effects, contraindications, therapeutic effects, and efficacy will be discussed. Demonstrated and/or discussed skills will include safe medication administration and patient/family member teaching.

Lecture will be presented utilizing a variety of multimedia and interactive presentations. Laboratory/simulation experiences will be largely hands-on, team-based, and collaborative using a variety of resources including, but not limited to: multimedia, simulation scenarios
