CJA 214 Criminal Investigation
Introduces modern investigative methods, the collection and preservation of physical evidence, forensics and DNA. The students learn verbal and non-verbal interviewing skills. Issues involving victim and witness sensitivity. Personality types/traits of cooperative and non-cooperative subjects (to include sociopaths/psychopaths. Emphasis on gaining community trust and techniques for extracting information from criminal informants.
Prerequisites: CJA 105; WR 121. Audit available.
