Welcome To Tillamook Bay Community College

WELCOME to the Tillamook Bay Community College Online Catalog for 2021-22!

Our online catalog is fully active and searchable and allows students to find all the same information that was in our printed catalogs. You can even easily print out sections of the catalog if you so desire. We hope you find this a useful resource if you are exploring coming to TBCC for the first time or returning to the college from last year.

On the next page is a list of our TBCC Vision and Mission Statements, our Core Themes that we focus to achieve as part of our Mission, and our college values.  We take these very seriously and want to provide the highest quality experience to our students as they work to achieve their educational goals. Education changes lives for the better and is important to all of us through our entire lifetime. TBCC will be going through its reaccreditation visit in the Fall of 2021 and will then be working to develop a new strategic plan with new mission, vision to take the college through the 2020s.

Our Guided Pathways Learning Communities will be integrated into our new College website for the new academic year. These are broader categories of majors that students will choose as an interest area by their second term at the college. This process has shown to increase graduation rates and save students time and money while in college. Our new student orientation sessions during the summer will be held by Learning Community to help students become connected to other students in the same Learning Community, and they will end up taking most of the same classes their first term at TBCC.

TBCC is expanding its campus! The College has purchased a building across Third Street from the main campus that is becoming our new Center for Industrial Technology and will house our Manufacturing and Welding programs. We are making improvements to the building and plan to have it open for classes sometime during the 2021-22 academic year.

The College also has a new Facilities Master Plan that includes a new classroom and community space building just south of the main campus, along with major renovations to the current main campus building. If the Legislature approves matching capital construction funds this summer, we will start working on raising the remaining funds needed to start construction. This will allow the college to grow even more new academic programs to serve the community and produce even more graduates that can obtain excellent living wage jobs. A very exciting time for TBCC.

We are hopeful that the pandemic will be under control enough by fall term to get us back to some level of normalcy which would be amazing! Regardless, we will have a majority of our courses offered face to face. In fact, we now have several classrooms that have advanced technology called Hyflex. It provides students the opportunity to be face to face, online, or remote on Zoom for any or all of the class sessions. It will provide students with more flexibility to choose the class mode that fits their lives the best. We are excited to offer that technology.

I wish all of you a productive and successful year of education at TBCC.  Please do stop by and say hi sometime. My door is always open!
